Sam Milby was one of the celebrities who graced Star Magic's press conference last December 9 at the 9501 restaurant, ABS-CBN compound. The matinee idol said that he and his ex-girlfriend Anne Curtis are still good friends and that they don't feel any awkwardness when they are together.

"Siyempre may mga dahilan kung bakit nag-break kami last year. Now, we're enjoying being okay again, being friends again. But we hang out a lot," said Sam.

The matinee idol revealed that he is currently working on a movie with Anne. Does he think that this movie will pave the way for him and Anne to get back together?

"That's what everyone says, e. That's what everyone is saying. 'Ay, may movie kayo, you guys will get back together,'" observed Sam.

Sam was also asked if he thinks he and Anne Curtis are soulmates. "Do I think that we're soulmates? I'm saying that if we are soulmates, then we'll eventually be together naman. I believe if you're made for each other, you'll be together."

Is he still open to a reconciliation, if ever? "Our doors aren't closed, but baka malaman namin na we're just really made to be friends."

He also added: "Siyempre, we've both admitted that we're not closing our doors. But it's something na you'd never want to rush."

Does he have an ideal age when he wants to settle down?

"Wala pa akong plano," admitted Sam. "Kung feeling ko na parang na-accomplish ko na lahat ng gusto kong ma-accomplish at kung feeling ko ready akong mag-asawa at puwede akong sumuporta ng isang pamilya. If I can already support a family, then I'm ready."

UPCOMING MOVIE. In their upcoming romantic comedy, Sam will play a Philosophy teacher who knows how to do taekwondo.

He and Anne already had their first shooting day and Sam narrated, "Nag-tracking pa lang kami. Pero may montage kami and nag-smack kami sa Manila Bay. It's about two people from very different worlds and they meet. They fall in love but their worlds don't mix very well, so yun ang mga nagkaroon ng problema."

He says that Anne is cast as a promo girl in this film, which will be directed by Mae Cruz.

Sam mentioned that he has already started taking up taekwondo classes for his role in the movie.

"Hindi ko ito first time kasi nag-aral ako sa college [ng martial arts]. And nag-wrestling din ako sa high school. For two years, I was into grappling/wrestling and then karate. Magaling ako ha, I was in the varsity. For my first tournament in the varsity, I got 4th Place."

Sam then proudly narrated one time when he joined a sparring competition when he was still starting out and he was pitted against a fellow student who already had a brown belt. Sam won against that student.

Sam is also known to be a figure skater for 12 years. Did he ever get taunted for being involved in this sport?

"Figure skating is more a female sport nga, so pero ano... no one. Kasi actually, there's a lot more straight guys than gay guys in the sport," he revealed.

Did he feel bothered by comments from other people?

"There's a time na na-bother ako kasi lagi akong nakikita yung mga hockey players... they make jokes. Pero ako, I used to play hockey all the time too. After my training sa skating, figure skating. Sa gabi, nagha-hockey na ako."

Aside from his upcoming movie with Anne, Sam said that he will be paired with Maja Salvador in Precious Hearts Romances Presents Impostor.

Sam will be leaving on December 22 to celebrate Christmas in the United States with his family and he is scheduled to return by January 4, 2010.
